This first post is a placeholder. It will eventually be replaced with our summary case and devil's advocate points about Claude should he be our nominee.
Please post your arguments and counterarguments below and over the course of the day we can come up with a concise brief for the Republicans to read in the short time they have for their final votes at Exile tonight.

1. Claude likes to make votes "Me or them" in mentality. A. He said several times of Camilla that if she was not a Spy, he would gladly be Exiled the next round. B. After she flipped Cit, he role claimed, and since then has constantly insisted that either him or Chance must be the next to go.
2. He has contradicted himself. A. He said in Round One that Citizens "Should never be emotional. It doesn't accomplish anything", to paraphrase. He also stated that he himself is never emotional in these games. But he claimed that he was in a very emotional state when he roleclaimed after getting heat for it. B. Speaking of that emotional state, right after he claimed, I commented that it seemed like an emotional decision, and he said that it was a "Calculated, logical" decision, defending himself. The two claims seem as another contradiction.
3. The role claim itself. Why would a Citizen make him or herself known publicly in the beginning of Episode 2? Claude claims that he wanted to keep himself safe, but he had an entire episode to see whether or not people suspected him enough to vote for him. What good would he, as a Citizen, have in claiming the way he did, at the time that he did? Conversely, what would a Spy have to benefit from a claim that early? A few rounds of time in which people would be afraid to vote for him. And the power to assert that his suspects be Exiled.
