new players dropping like flies

I'm kinda sad. I did soooooooo much work trying to get new players to play, like always haha. I did the same stuff I usually do plus more, exhausting every mafia site I know of, every trick, every publicity site I could imagine. So much time.
And I really thought the "free money!" aspect would bring in more new players. All that work, and while I'm glad I got enough people to start the game for sure, it wasn't what I was expecting. Maybe the timing was bad w/ summer.
I got 13 new players to play this time. I think there were 20 in Spies 7. Of those 13, two have already been eliminated. And one just quit and the other looks to be inactive. That leaves only nine new people. =/ And I accept pretty much any new person as long as they're not atrocious.
Only nine! New players always seem to go first.
I hope this doesn't turn into Spies 4 where like all of the new people save Candy and Singe went haha.
On a positive note, I did get a large reception from Spies 7 players which is really good. So I guess they liked it.
For 3 people their last game was Spies 5.
For 2 people their last game was Spies 6.
For 12 people their last game was Spies 7.
I guess that makes it a really good time to end the series. Spies never really "took off" amongst the mafia community like I had hoped. At the start I did more advertising amongst Survivor groups because that's what I know best. It's also tough to advertise in mafia communities because its so completely insular ~ people normally play only on one site. There's nowhere to advertise on mafia sites. Everyone thinks their own site is the bee's knees, and however they play it is the 'best'. It's also probably too difficult to explain to mafia players. That or internet mafia players don't like social interaction lol.
On the other hand I feel like a dick for even feeling a tiny bit sad because I got 67 applications for both Spies 6 and Spies 7. Any host would have seven spontaneous orgasms at the thought of getting that. But to be fair I did put a lot of work in to get those.
