I'm going to plagarize my own post from 2 years ago!

I'll be attending Gen Con in Indianapolis this summer: August 3-7. For those of you who don't know, Gen Con is a gigantic gaming convention (board games, card games (like MTG), electronic games, RPGs, LARPs, etc.). There are all sorts of events and tournaments, including - oh my heck - live mafia.
I already bought my tickets to play 4 nights of live mafia / The Werewolf Game - from 10 p.m. onward I will play game after game of mafia, accusing like crazy and acting all sneaky. I also hope to meet up with some gamers I met online to play a couple of hours of The Resistance! (an fantastic mafia variant)
So yeah, if anyone else knows they're going to attend Gen Con this summer, let me know!

Pictures from last year:
Giant Shear Panic at the Mayfair table - "The best game ewe ever herd."
Tabletop Settlers of Catan!
Giant alien creature made out of Magic: The Gathering cards
Costume parade!
Local businesses cater to the Gen Con nerds - they'll add goblinburgers to their menus, for example, or in the case of this movie theater, show features that will attract large crowds (last year they showed "Serenity")
Speaking of Star Trek, look who showed up! Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher) is pretty famous in the gamer community.
Two samples of the convention-wide puzzle - the clues are hidden around the convention center. Last year's dealt with palindromes and vampires taking over a town (the bat symbols represent the missing letters that form a palindromic phrase)
As you can see, there's a million things to see and do. Gen Con is one of my most favorite places in the known universe.
