This is sad for me. I really wish I hadn't been to busy to replace into this game so I could have been a part of the last Spies in some way. But my one Spies experience was great and I look back on it fondly.
Good luck in your future endeavors Sam.

So... I've played six games, had more time in-game than anybody else bar Trey, and have been a spy for almost twice as long in total as any other single player. And for the most part it's been fantastic. And for the record, Spies 6 is still probably the best ORG I've ever played in. To all the active players: it's been an honour and a privilege to cooperate and collaborate with you all, to mess with your minds, to imprison you and to exile you. Peace!

Ahem. I've had more in-game time than you Yves. And I calculated it because I'm a stats-obsessed weirdo.
Yves: 1: Imprisoned round 4 2: Exiled round 10 3: Lasted 7 rounds 4: Exiled round 1 5: Didn't play 6: Imprisoned round 5 7: Exiled round 11 8: Didn't play
4+10+7+1+5+11 = 38 rounds
Me: 1: Lasted 5 rounds 2: Imprisoned round 8 3: Lasted 7 rounds 4: Lasted 12 rounds 5: Imprisoned round 14 6: Didn't play 7: Didn't play 8: Imprisoned round 4
5+8+7+12+14+4 = 50 rounds
Ditto what Yves said, honor, priviledge, fun. Except Spies 5 was my favorite.

Having had more game time than, well, anyone else in the series, I can truly say, Sam, that your ORG's have literally changed my life. Thinking of the countless hours I've put into the games, all the friends I've met, and all of the moments that will live with me forever, I can't imagine that there's a single ORG host out there that can claim to have created something as special as what you have with the Spies series.
Spies has played a huge part in my life. When I played in Spies 1, I had just started college and needed an outlet to relax with at night. In Spies 2 I was able to play a girl and get in touch with my feminine side, and through that experience I've actually become better equipped to deal with the low-income area female students I'm teaching every day now. In Spies 3 I was able to make a bond with the amazing Jack, and together Bruce and Jack, well, lost to the Spies, but it was fun along the way! In Spies 4 I learned how NOT to send Private Messages, but I also learned how sometimes having that one special lifeline and connection can make the game much more enjoyable, and that it's not necessary to be in the spotlight to play a good, fun game. In Spies 5 I learned that every single suspicion I had was dead on, for whatever reason it was, and having just had a terrible breakup, I was able to vent my frustrations and bitterness through a bitchy character that sniped at people left and right. That game was actually really therapeutic for me, even though I felt terrible about it. In Spies 6, I was able to orchestrate the game the way I thought it should run. I had a belief that if a Spy was to plan out the entire game from day one, stick with it, and execute well, assuming that it's a good plan, the Spy would be able to cruise to victory. I also learned how to become a pathological liar. In Spies 7, I learned that my Spy Hunting as Delilah in Spies 5 was more luck than I previously thought, and that I shouldn't be SO sure of myself. I also learned that sometimes, no matter how good the evidence looks, a person might still be innocent. In Spies 8 I learned that different philosophies, game styles, and ideas don't necessarily mean different alignment. I also learned that even when a terrible case is presented on you, lots of people may buy into it if you haven't created a character personable enough to gain sympathetic support.
I'll truly cherish all of my Spies memories forever. I've met some amazing people and have had some glorious times. Though the Spies series ended last night, it will live on forever through the hearts and minds of all of those involved with it. Never before have I seen a series where so many people stuck around for years, even if they didn't have time to actually play. The viewers and regulars that have remained loyal are a testament to how great your games are. I'm particularly picky with my ORG's. I've only played in one single ORG since Spies 1 that wasn't one of your games, and that was a test run for a Mafia series that a few fellow Spies players are creating. Basically, once I experienced Spies, I knew that nothing else was going to be worth playing, because it would pale in comparison.
So I really do thank you, Sam, for all of the dedication and hard work you've put in. For dealing with frantic or angry Citizens/Spies, for listening to bitching, diffusing fights, and always being a fair and honest host for every single game. Your creativity, integrity, and dedication go unmatched!
And now... I have more work to grade, so I'm going to cut this rant short ; D Thank you again, Sam! Words will never be able to express what this series has accomplished.
PS, SAM YOU HAVE HOSTED 14 GAMES OF MAFIA, SO CLEARLY YOU, LIKE HAROLD, KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!!!!111ONEone Sorry, couldn't resist a Spies 7 reference ; D
P.P.S. I like the reference to Jason posted Spy conversations to the public boards -______________-

Hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa -=- Sam, I have loved being a small part of your Spies games - it's taught me a lot and I've met some incredibly funny, smart and interesting people. Thank you for all your time, energy and tolerance for all of us and our odd little quirks. It's been a honor to be a part of this world. PS - You should still do an All Stars game. It wouldn't technically be part of the series you know...

Thanks so much Sam for all the hard work you put into this series. As anyone who has played with me knows, I certainly enjoyed every game I played and put in...more than the average amount of time into them. I've met some great people playing this game, and have had quite a bit of fun both in and outside the game with said people. As a (retired?) hardcore forum mafia player, let me tell you that these games are infinitely better than any forum mafia game I've ever played and I boggle at anyone who tells you any different. Spies5 was my favorite game, and remains an especially fond memory. There was just a near critical mass of awesome people in that game and even some of the people who didn't do a whole lot still had their time in the spotlight to make one final splash before they went out (Paige, Cookie, to name a few). But that's not to say that Spies6 or Spies7 were any slouches. I had a great time as Vlad and Kirsten. I think my only regret was that I didn't get married as Kirsten to really get the full trifecta there . Anyway, thanks again for everything you've done with this series. I wish you the best of luck, and I'm still holding out hope that you will Brett Favre this and come back again at some point to do another game.

Since this is closing soon, I just wanted to take the time to thank you for all the hard work, time, and dedication you've put into this series! Looking at all these past characters and personalities just goes to show the tremendous effort you've put into making these games awesome. Although the series may be coming to an end, I'm sure none of us will ever forget all the fun and memories we've had and made during spies! Thanks again, Sam! Even though my time in the Spies series was relatively short, I will never forget any of these terrific people. Spies 6, will forever be one of the greatest games I've ever played, and it's all thanks to you!

To Sam, I really second everyone else's sentiments and am not sure if I can really add a whole lot more. I stumbled across spies during the Spies 4 application process, glanced quickly and didn't return until applying for Spies 5. Obviously I regret that, but oh well. Granted, I only played twice, but Spies 5 was definitely my favorite, despite being involved more in Spies 7 (still had a great time though). Each time I met plenty of great individuals whom I've enjoyed getting to know beyond the game. As a viewer, it was much the same. You really must be doing something right to get a fair number of people coming back just to view a game that they aren't even participating in. Thank you Sam for the fun and the memories that will only be known to a small, but kick ass group of people. Good luck on whatever comes down the road to you, and I'll always be waiting for that Spies 9 application to show up in my inbox...
Sincerely, The Lesser Sam

Yes. Thank you, Sam. I know you put everything into these games, and it does show. While I have had my gripes in the past, as Vladimir(die clown) said, these games truly do not compare even to the best of forum mafia games. That is why we come back time and time again.
Spies is unparalleled in its profoundness, and to see it go is truly a shame.
...Not to say I am believing such nonsense. Spies shall return, I say. It may take 2, 3, or even 4 years, but return it shall.

Dearest Sam, thanks for everything. Being completely new to mafia, I applied to the series because I was looking for something to fill the void of Murders. Being picky and not really trusting that hosts these days are dedicated, I was lucky enough to have found a host that had such a big reputation. I had heard that your games were some of the most intense games around (even years after they happened) and I can now say that the hype is true.
Been around these games for far too long and I can say that I've never been as stressed out by a game in my life. You may not take great pleasure in that, but you should take that as a good thing since you get your players so invested in the game.
I enjoyed growing up in mafia, making some good friends, writing bomb ass confessionals for you, etc. Your positive comments always made me feel really good about myself and I truly appreciate the pep-talk when I was at my lowest point in the game. I can't speak for others, but you've treated me with respect and took my n00bie ass in with open arms. Much appreciated.
Spies.... Favre from over.

MOTHERLANDING.

Yes, Sam, if it was not for Spies then I never would've learned my favorite sex position of all time. Guess you don't get to use it very often... He doesn't use it at all. It's used on him. So, the other day I was on the prowl in my MotherLand Rover, when who did I see but ol' Yuri sitting on the side of the road. So naturally I pulled over to give him the smooth motherlanding as they call it. I was all set to go. Shovel in hand. Wearing my hot new clothes from MotherLands End. However, I was missing the vanilla ice cream. I mean, I'm capable of pulling off a motherland sans shovel, but it's not really doable without the vanilla ice cream, even for a seasoned vet like myself. I tried it once with a vanilla ice CD and it just wasn't the same. Trying to get your motherland on with ice, ice baby is a no-go, take it from me. ANYWAY, I had to stop off at the store to get some vanilla ice cream, but they were all sold out. Dejected, I began to wander aimlessly toward the store exit, when out of the corner of my eye I spotted some MotherLand of Lakes butter. Let me tell you, it works. Long story, short...I Motherlanded Yuri that day. I Motherlanded him good. It was like watching a copy of the MotherLand before Time. Damn that was good.
