SOCIETAL COLLAPSE
At Exile tonight, society collapsed. The financial problems of the previous administration were too great, and the country fell into a financial meltdown. People made runs on banks. Currency inflated to obscene levels, making money almost worthless. Anarchy ruled in the streets, and the government was overthrown from power.
Weeks later, Owen was able to gather together a few people to restore order. He named himself Dictator. Owen has the power as a result of winning the ultimate power from Challenge 3 ~ The Power Puzzle Race. Owen will be the only one casting an Exile vote at Exile 4.
The rest of you have lost your Exile vote until further notice. The only way to get it back is to earn it back. You will earn it back in a variety of ways in the upcoming Episodes.
However, you are not powerless. You will cast a nomination vote instead of an Exile vote. You will cast a nomination vote as normal, and the 3 or more players with the most nomination votes will be nominated. Owen, and eventually other players who earn back their vote, will cast votes to Exile one of the nominated players.
Until further notice, how players are Exiled will change. First, players without Exile votes will nominate people for Exile. Then, the players with Exile votes will vote on which nominee should be Exiled. This explains the process in detail.
All players, with the exception of Owen, are now part of the House of Representatives. They will nominate players for Exile. Throughout the course of the twist, players will earn their Exile vote back and be upgraded from nominate-or to Exile-er. They will move from the House of Representatives to the Senate. This can happen at any time in a variety of ways, so keep a look out for the chance to earn back your vote.
Players in the Senate do not nominate.
Players in the House of Representatives (known as House from now on) will nominate in the following way. ALL members of the House must cast nominate votes for ONE person as usual exactly like you did for your Exile vote. Post your nomination vote in the exact same way, in your confessional, before the voting deadline. Vote penalties will be applied to the nomination vote.
Nomination votes will be tallied and revealed on the board (not in a live event). It will be revealed who you nominated. At least three players must be nominated. If there is a tie, then all players tied for third place will be nominated as well.
After this is complete, all players who did not cast a nomination vote will be automatically penalty nominated as well.
An example:
The votes are tallied on the board Tuesday night and shown to be as follows:
Nancy - 8
Sadia - 4
Byron - 3
Daniel - 2
Vivian - 2
Manny - 2
Sylvia - 1
Bill - 1
Olivia did not vote. Daniel got 1 penalty vote for not posting at least 2 conversations in the Episode. All penalty votes, except for not voting, will be added before the initial nominees are decided.
That means the players nominated are (in bold):
Nancy - 8
Sadia - 4
Byron - 3
Daniel - 3
Olivia (did not vote)
Vivian - 2
Manny - 2
Sylvia - 1
Bill - 1
Nancy and Sadia had the two highest votes so they were nominated. Byron and Daniel were tied for third place with 3 votes, so both were nominated. Olivia was automatically nominated for not casting a nomination vote. Nancy, Sadia, Byron, Daniel, and Olivia are the 5 nominees. Members of the Senate will vote for one of those five to be Exiled.
It is okay to nominate members of the Senate, and Senate members can vote for each other at Exile.
Immediately after I announce the nominees, I will set a deadline for the Senate to cast their Exile votes. Exile votes will be revealed at the live chat as usual, along with announcements and the alignment reveal. You are strongly encouraged to talk with members of the Senate and present your opinions and evidence to them, to convince them to vote out people you think are Spies. You as a nominator doesn't get out Spies, so you'll have to convince the Senate to make the right pick!
All players will post in the same area - The Burg - and are as always encouraged to collect evidence, present cases, and convince each other of who they suspect. Nominating is as important as Exiling. The groups have merged - all players can talk to everyone, without restrictions.
Your strategy for how you nominate might differ. You may want to cast your nomination vote towards someone you think might not get the most votes, but enough to be nominated. In that way you may be able to control who gets nominated, and guide the Senate in the right direction. Or, you may choose to keep the same strategy, and let the fact that someone received a ton of nomination votes send a clear message to the Senate as to what the will of the people is.
The flavor of this twist is that society has collapsed, and is rebuilding itself little by little. As time goes on, more and more people get power, and civilization goes from despotism to returning to democracy.
Your Exile vote has been taken away from you. When will you get it back?
