I was unable to play this game from the beginning due to my schedule, but I am glad I have gotten to replace in.
After all, I finally get to be a legit Spy.
Because I didn't get the chance to freak out about it at the beginning, I will do so now:

Alright, I have just finished reading Lawrence's old confessionals . . . and as expected, he did not leave me with much. No worries though, his lack of activity gives me the freedom to create a new interpretation of the character for role play, a new play style, and hopefully new suspicions. The Spy dynamics in this season seem . . . odd, to me. Maybe it was like this in the past, but in the games I've played, the Spies have either been totally disconnected (6) or very cohesive as a group (7). We seem to have a mix of both . . . Mary is extremely standoffish. While she gathers great information in the Spy HQ, in chats she barely talks to me. On the other hand, Cinnamyn is already one of my favorite players in the game. She was very friendly. We obviously didn't chat much, because we both needed to keep our attention on the game at hand (and I wanted to make a good first impression), but her advice was great, and she approved of my plans to ingrain myself into the Citizen network (more on this a little later). Unfortunately, I have yet to see Hambone. He posted in Spy HQ that he will be away for a couple days . . . meh. I will be sure to meet him when the opportunity presents itself. My persona that I am crafting, while I don't think is the original intention of the character, should be distinct enough to work for the game. When I read "magician," I thought "flashy showman." In order to create this illustion (pun intended), I have adopted a superfluous vocabulary. All of my statements are well-spoken and elaborate. If I were talking to Lawrence in real life, I would be annoyed by him, but still enjoy his presence because of his eccentricities. This is the effect I hope to have on others. Last night was a great entrance into the game for me, I think. Not only did I speak (briefly) with everyone who was online (forgot to save chats ), but two Citizens bit the dust. While Zedekiah was "meh," from what I've gathered in Spy HQ, Allan was both a Citizen with a role and fairly well trusted by the influential Citizens. Neither of those are things good to keep around. The fact that he took the bribe, albeit annoying, is extremely good for us. I do think it was rather disrespectful to denied applicants to take the bribe, but that's his choice. My strategy for today is to enlist Citizen aid in catching up on my knowledge. I know bare bones facts about who has been eliminated, but I don't know the reasons why or the various suspicions floating around the Burg. I am hopeful that some kind Citizen will help me, thereby forming a good impression in their mind of me, and creating a bond that I can "trust." Additionally, it may possibly turn out that someone does not want to help me catch up. If so, I can use that to form my first real suspicion of the game, as I can say they did not want me to become an active participant, limiting discussion and aiding the Spies. Wow, I think this just might be the longest confessional I have ever written.

Barely anyone is online this morning. I do not want to appear as if I have been on AIM for long periods of time. If so, when I am asking Citizens questions about the game, it will appear as though I have not been making an effort in the game, and thus I will appear suspicious. I think it may be best if I stay off of AIM during dead periods, as I want to catch up with Citizen asistance, not of my own accord, lest as Cinnamyn warned me last night (and I agree with), I appear like I am receiving criminal aid.

Another part of playing the character of Lawrence is that as a performer, he is struggling to make ends meet. Therefore when anyone mentions money, I act like I really want it. At any point when I am away, I will chalk it up to a performance, give some background to it, and be overjoyed that I am making money.
For example, tonight:
What they think I'm doing: Performance for children's theater. I complained that they always stare at my lack of arm.
What I'm really doing: Working 5-9 at Subway. Eat Fresh!
Also, Lawrence loves to eat (reminiscent of Gretchen, but I won't focus as much). All in all, I think I'm giving a solid performance as a character which I did not create, so I'm excited.
I've changed my mind about Mary. Today over AIM she was very pleasant, albeit secretive. I'll post the chat into my confessional shortly, and she really helped me get on base. She told me ways I could probably jump into the game without suspicion. Due to her, I know that Stephanie thought Old Lawrence was a Spy. However, Stephanie is also upset about the Zedekiah Exile. I have a way to make a post attacking the Exile, which I will utilize in a day or two.
She also told me that there is a Citizen alliance consisting of Cory, Gertrude, Owen, Chance, Claude, and Kiara. This is not good news whatsoever. Citizen voting blocks destroy the mafia, if only because of process of elimination. And unfortunately, we have no Spies on the inside a la Jason, Pete, or Vladimir. We need to eliminate them asap. I know one of them is getting imprisoned this round, which should make it easier to Exile the others. And not all of these Citizens are the best scumhunters, another upside.
Apparently the Senate suspects Cinnamyn. Crap. I will be willing to throw her under the bus if it looks like she will be Exiled if only to get me some mileage early in my stay here. I can't afford to take too long to develop suspicions, nor can I afford to create bad cases and have people look at me. I finally understand the paranoia of being a Spy, but I think I can deal with it. It is going to be stressful having to worry about everything you say in chat, but I'm up for this challenge. It will be radically different than my experience as a Citizen in 6 & 7, I am convinced.

It looks like my plan of catching up with a Citizen's assistance will not come to fruition. Due to schedules, there is no one online during the day when I primarily read the Burg except for Mary. While it is nice to have a Spy to pitch ideas off of, we have to be careful. Chance and Claude are constantly signed into AIM, and if they catch us off idle, questions will be asked. In the near future, I plan to fake a Citizen conversation with Mary. This should help alleviate concerns about us being in cahoots, but we still need to be cautious. Also, Mary plans to grill me in public, while privately giving me the answers to her questions. I do believe this will work out quite well for us. As a Citizen, I would definitely be suspicious of Broderick right now due to a conversation we recently had. He called out multiple suspects (far more than the four Spies that remain), and didn't say much reasoning about them. Admittedly, I didn't ask, but I can ask in the Burg and see what he gives me. We also got into an argument about semantics, which rubbed me the wrong way. I think my nomination vote will go to Broderick this round. I do not want to earn my Senate vote this round, because I think claiming that I do not know enough will earn me points with various members of the Burg. The Imprisonment choice will probably be Cory, a confirmed Citizen and member of the Evil Citizen alliance. Works for me. Either later tonight or tomorrow, I will make a post. Magalie accidentally confirmed Zedekiah in episode 5, and I plan on using this information to make the Zedekiah voters look bad. Mary (love her) told me that the votes were weird that round as well, information I can use against them. A good solid suspicion post right now should lead me to gaining trust in the Burg. Old Lawrence inactiving out was actually a good thing. People tend to give replacements time to redeem themselves. It's a horrible strategy, as they still have the same alignment as their predecessor. But there's no saying I can't take advantage of it. I'm going to take this grace period and run with it, hopefully positioning myself to make it far into the game. Damn, all it takes is a bit of evil and I'm inspired to write confessionals.

It looks like the plan for today is trifold:
The Spies are going to use our votes to force Broderick onto the Senate, ensuring that Cinnamyn does not get nominated, and making sure a Citizen gets Exiled this round.
Cinnamyn is going to post a case on Awohali.
I am going to catch up and hopefully earn Citizen points.
I have a feeling today will be a busy Spy day . . . I am excited.
Also, by random chance earlier this morning, the only four people on AIM were the four Spies. We had our first group chat! Awesome!

So I'm currently nominating Dane. He fights my reasoning, but I don't see a problem with it. I know what he intended to say, but the way he said it sounded fairly bad to me. I don't think I will ride the Dane case very long, because I'm sure to find better suspicions as episode 7 goes on. However, I'd say its my safest nomination bet right now.
Broderick cleared up some things that made him suspicious to me, and I think it would look bad to stay on him after that.
Hopefully after tonight no Spies will be nominated and everything will be alright.

Hopefully after tonight no Spies will be nominated and everything will be alright. I should learn to never type a sentence such as this. Ten nominations. TEN. TEN.Can anyone say "lack of organization?" This is rediculous. REDICULOUS.It is not exactly an unfavorable outcome, just extremely surprising. Cinnamyn's Awohali case is going to give her some more Citizen mileage, I believe. Dane, Awohali, and Jenny are all potential Exiles. I know that Stephanie and Gertrude suspect Dane, and Awohali and Jenny are not saints at all. Of course, myself and Cinnamyn are nominated, so things could go terribly wrong. I'll try reverse psychology on the Spies Gods this time around. We're doomed, this round will go absolutely horribly, all of us will be caught.

Also, I believe that partnering with Stephanie to investigate Dane is going to gain Citizen points and change her opinion of me.

This Exile is completely between Awohali and Jenny.
Spies likey.
Claude is going to be exileable later, I think. He is not taking advantage well of either his role or his position on the Senate. It seems like he is just saying "Chance is scum" and not pushing the case at all. I know from Mary that they are faking this now, but still, it looks bad, and I can join with people like Jasmine and Stephanie to possibly get him lynched.
I do not want to tempt the Spies gods, but I think this round will go well for us.

Also, the slowness of AIM in this game is upsetting. When I played 6 and 7, discussion about Exiles was up to the wire, not as slow as this has been.
I'm bored, but I'm a Spy, so I'm still content.

LOL at your reaction to the voting clusterfuck and trying to fit into the character of Lawrence.
Writing confessionals is awesome. So is reading others'.
