No I will not be changing my avatar every episode. It would be a dead giveaway, and I've already dropped a few of my catch phrases from last game, so I'm pushing it as it is. Fortunately this is such a drastic change in personality that I think I'll be safe from accusation pummeling.
This episode I am not in full douchebag mode. No. Instead, I am in Philosoraptor mode with a pinch of douchebag on the side. I hope that makes no sense, because it sure as hell isn't meant to.
The guy who this character is based on is a real asshat. Not a bad guy, but he doesn't know when to shut up. He's into all sorts of history and loves quoting famous politicians from the American Revolution. I am loosely playing like that, because being a full blown asshole would have gotten me exiled really quickly.
The fun thing about this game is that you never really know what you'll actually be doing when you start to play. I said something similar to Sam before the game started. People probably think they know exactly what their strategy will be. Or that their character will be perfect from the get go. But it's all trial and error and experimentation as you go. Ditch what doesn't work and keep the small gems you pick up along the way.

Motivation is not coming easily for the Philosoraptor in this here episode. I talked to Claude in the wee early hours of the morning, and Lilith a bit after that. But beyond that, I am not smelling the devil's scent just yet.
I don't think Claude is a Spy. I don't think Chance is one, either, but I am much less certain of this. I know I'm not one. This leaves the quieter players, and I know little about them.

What this game needs is a dramatic fiasco that the Spies will try to manipulate. And I need to sit back and watch rather than be the target of said fiasco.

If Claude or Chance were to be a Spy, then you'd think that this vote wouldn't have been such a huge split. Unless, of course, there just aren't very many Spies on this team. That's why these teams make it a bit difficult - we could be dealing with no Spies for all we know.
This just fuels my theory that the Spies on this team are among the quieter players, if there are any at all. People like Isaac, Awohali, Magalie, Margot.
The Philosoraptor is coming for you.

So yeah. I'm just kind of laying low right now. It's not exactly how I like to play, but it has to happen till I can burn my syringe.
My place on the Camilla wagon should be reason enough for me not to get nabbed tonight. That, and I believe the Spies will be more honed in on the going-ons of the GOP after they lost their beloved Alexei in the last episode.
Take Gabriel you fuckas!

It's so quiet right now. I'm online, but the only other person I see logged in(on BOTH teams) is RoboClaude. Bleh. I've already talked to him as much as I care to for now.
The Democrats are a drag, when all is said and done. Some great characters, but you can tell there's inhibition all around.
Let's just hope people are laying low in anticipation for the Imprisonment tonight. I'm really quite anxious to see who goes. *famous last words*

Also I hope the damn kid knows how to keep his mouth shut, because I will have to approach him eventually to let him know I was responsible for it.
Well, whenever I can. Kind of stuck with the Democrats right now.

Lots of drama going on in the chat room right now. Lots of speculation about whether or not a Spy used the immunity on ClaudeChance.
After Spies 7, I've learned my lesson about trying to outguess Sam. For anyone who is ignorant, there was a player named Tracy in the last game. She claimed the role "Dick Tracy", which nobody believed. Well, it wound up being a real role. So Sam owned us all.
Could this immunity granter be a Spy? A Citizen? The hell if I know. I'm not going to pay a ton of mind to this. All I know is that I can't vote Chance this episode.

It's kind of weird, and I may get a bit of shit for this, but I'm feeling a little bit selfish in how I play. Because this is truly the last game of Spies, my elimination is, in fact, the big Game Over for me. There is no Spies after that. Winning & losing: what's it matter if I don't get a sizable portion of the pie? This brings us back to the ancient debate between playing to win and playing to have fun. There's a middle ground that you have to find with a game like this.
This is also why I was so adamant about protecting a player who I perceived as adding to the atmosphere of the game, versus merely protecting the player who I perceived to be either "most valuable" or most likely to be taken. We want this game to go out with a bang. And the spooky Spies tried to damage the atmosphere by killing the happy go lucky kid.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Nita is possessed by a warrior of sorts.
It's More Than a Feeling.
The eye of the Philosoraptor sees all, they say. Must be the monocle.
~~~
So Claude seems to like me. A lot. It's really funny how that works. I've noticed it in a lot of situations. Basically, you get off to the wrong start with someone, and it proceeds with rampant hostility. But if you kiss and make up in a timely manner, you become best friends.
Then again, I wouldn't exactly say we're best friends. But we're definitely consciously going out of our way to avoid a big showdown like before. We really hated each others guts for several days there.
Ahhh. Me and these random ass rants. Maybe tomorrow I'll talk about something relevant. Such as, who the Spies are...
ha...ha... As if I'll figure that one out...
Really, I just want to get to talk to Gabriel. Kid owes me. Really, it's just neat knowing there's someone out there with whom to bounce ideas and get feedback not tainted by the dark & devious motives of Spyhood. It's also unfortunate that the kid will be dying next episode. The only way to avoid it is to persuade the Spies that there are threats more imminent that they need to deal with. But as far as they're concerned, Gabriel is a confirmed Cit. He has to go eventually.
I am suspicious of Gertrude. Suspicious of Margot. Suspicious of Isaac.
These people just feel slimiest to me. Gertrude using Survivor as an excuse for not coming clean about her suspicions of Camilla just seems like a cop-out to me. Margot has gone silent. Isaac is just another one of those people seeming to care more about appearance than finding Spies.
I think right now I suspect Isaac most. Kind of worried Margot is just another noob who doesn't know what she's doing. Gertrude has some legit looking suspicions. Isaac is just kind of there, but then not.
In retrospect, I think the right move was only attempting to save people on your team. This game you lost out on the chance to collaborate because of the division.
I've just never been a fan of claiming unless there are guarantees. Granted, I haven't had a role since Spies 1.
DC, you're too powerful on your own to need a role. I know your alignment this round wasn't a "role" but I guess it could be considered one in sorts?
I didn't have a role by the time I claimed. My role was used and Gabriel was dead. Me being imprisoned was inevitable.
Claiming was necessary. On the off chance shit got ugly I needed someone who could vouch that I was telling the truth.
I didn't consider my alignment to be a role because there were no abilities associated with it, and it becoming public knowlege would not have made me a bigger target for imprisonment. So I believed at the time that claiming privately, to avoid imprisonment, was exactly the right thing to do.
If I had had a role, I probably would not have told anyone about it. Not even Owen or Tina. Not until I was 100% sure I was talking to a Citizen, and one who wouldn't blab.
Cory: Why inevitable?
Hence why I was worrisome to also reveal my role...even though it prob. wouldn't have made a difference in the long run. *le sigh*
Maybe not. But oh Joe, if you had claimed, what a fucking mess round 2 would have been, with everyone changing their votes last minute not once, but twice. My guess is Themba or crazy Stephanie would have been exiled with like, 5/14 votes.
Then again, maybe not - I don't know how many people would have been convinced that The Messenger was a Citizen role.
But yes, you were right not to claim to random people in round 1 or whatever.
