I am so glad for Spies as a part of my life. I was immediately attracted to ORGs the moment I saw them at the young age of thirteen in the early noughties. I was a bit of a quiet/eccentric one in my early school days but with a liking for video games and realuity tv shows). , I was able to tap into this by posting on the then novelty "message boards".
I glimpsed upon Sam's survivor games whilst playing on the same board as Sam on the infamous GameFAQs. I started to play a few "ORGs" on different places but none quite satisfied me as much as Spies would. No host was dedicated or imaginative enough. And anyway real life was taking over.
But then out of nowhere, by chance on WIKIPEDIA, I noticed from a lead in of articles from AL CAPONE of all articaes, that this Sam guy from GameFAQS was now hosting a game called 'Spies'.
Spies took one of the best games (mafia) and turned it into everything you could possibly want in an ORG (random internet people to talk to, in jokes, characters, events, drama, events to talk about for years).
College was the best time of my life, but in shitty times during two-three of my college years, Spies was like the hobby I had that nobody had to know about but me. It was something so unbelievably awesome, with such a range of people, where I could just easily access every night and just be.
I am always grateful for Spies and thank Sam for all his dedication and hardwork, and hope other people do the same.
I dunno, thats just my story about Spies! Whats yours?
